Karlsruhe, Germany. The Communications business segment has legally separated from disy Informationssysteme GmbH and will be known from now on as “Lindenbaum GmbH”. This step highlights the company’s independent course in the market for telephone and web conferencing, and virtual dialogs.
On the 2nd March 2009, Lindenbaum GmbH was registered as a limited company in Mannheim. This completed the legal separation of the former Communications business segment from disy Informationssysteme GmbH. The two independent companies, disy and Lindenbaum, will now focus on their own markets and customers.
Staff were invited to celebrate this special occasion on the 6th March 2009 at the FZI Research Centre in Karlsruhe. For the last 25 years FZI has been responsible for the successful transfer of technology from academic research to industry. FZI is also the birthplace of the disy. During his speech, Professor Lockemann, a longstanding member of the FZI Board of Directors, said this gave him strong reason to believe in a successful future for the companies. “The fact that Mr Kleinn and I are also on the board of both companies will guarantee continued collaboration”.
The managing directors, Dr Ralf Nikolai and Mr Claus Hofmann, gave a review of their joint development: a spin-off of the FZI Research Centre, software development began in their student lodgings. Today their successful enterprise employs more than 70 people, with operations principally taking place in the German-speaking countries of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Both the newly created Lindenbaum GmbH and disy Informationssysteme GmbH are looking optimistically into the future. “We are excellently equipped with our range of products and services”, said Dr. Nikolai, “and hope to continue our growth strategy within Europe”.
